Canadian Association for Research on Work and Health

Welcome

The Canadian Association for Research on Work and Health (CARWH) is a non-profit association of Canadian researchers.

Our Mission: To enhance and promote research on work health, safety, and well being in Canada and to advocate for research on how work and work environments can be altered to improve health, safety, and wellness among Canadians.

News & Announcements:

The next CARWH conference will be held in Vancouver on June 1 and 2, 2012 (with Student Day on May 31st). For details www.carwh2012.com

Abstract submissions close on January 11, 2012.

The local host of this conference is WorkSafe BC. The conference will be held at the Fairmount Waterfront Hotel in downtown Vancouver, which is quite an attractive site. Our host has negotiated an excellent room rate at the hotel and free internet service. The room rate for CARWH is $189 per night, an offer that is available three days before and after the conference.

The Scientific Organising committee is co-chaired by Kay Teschke (UBC) and Peter Smith (IWH). Highlights of our conference will include two keynote presentations on day one, a series of four student presentations on day two, and a closing keynote and panel discussion sponsored by the CIHR Institute for Gender and Health.
We have an exciting mix of keynote speakers for CARWH 2012. These are Mieke Koehoorn from the University of British Columbia, David Walters from Cardiff University, and Pat Armstrong from York University. Please check the conference website (www.carwh2012.com) for updates.

Our biennial CARWH conference has become a key national multi disciplinary gathering of researchers, students and stakeholders who are focused on the topic of work and health. The conference fulfils CARWH's important mandate to have a forum that brings us all together. It also sets the stage for the future of work and health research in Canada

We look forward to seeing you in Vancouver.
